Terms & Conditions of Hire
1 - A deposit is required to confirm your booking. The deposit is variable dependent on the nature of the function and will be communicated to you at the time of your enquiry . The deposit, if paid by cheque, will be cashed upon receipt.
2 - The full deposit is returnable if there is no damage or soiling of the fixtures and fittings within the premises AND there is no unacceptable behavior either within or out with the premises which may be considered detrimental to the retention of our license. The deposit will be returned in cash within 7 days of your function.
3 - Should there be extra cleaning required due to soiling of fixtures and fittings within the premises a percentage or all of the deposit may be retained.
4 - Should the function be cancelled by you the following charges shall be applied:-
Cancellation more than 28 days before date of hire: deposit will be returned and no charge will be made.
Cancellation between 15 and 28 days before date of hire: 50% of the deposit shall be forfeited.
Cancellation between 8 and 14 days before date of hire: 100% of the deposit shall be forfeited.
Cancellation within 7 days of the date of hire: Full hall hire charge and deposit will be forfeited
5 - The cost of hall hire for all functions is £180.00.This includes our resident DJ and disco. This also includes full bar facilities, use of a buffet room and our kitchen facilities. Additional charges will apply if further services are used. PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT CATER FOR 18TH OR 21ST PARTIES. Please note that if a function is booked and the management of the Waterside Social Club deem the function on the evening to have been primarily booked for an 18th or a 21st the function will be terminated immediately and the cost of hall hire and deposit will be forfeited.
6 - The hire is from 7.00pm to 12.00am with last orders called at 11.45pm. The hall must be vacated by 12.15am to comply with our license conditions.
7 - The premises may be decorated by you prior to your function however if anything is attached to the walls "white-tack" must be used. The use of "blue-tack" or sticky tape is not permitted due to possible marking / damage to the walls.
8 - As part of our licensing conditions all guests who appear to be under 25 years old will be asked for identification upon entry to the premises. Once their ID has been checked and their age verified they will have their hand stamped. The bar staff will not serve alcohol to anyone who appears to be under 25 without seeing their stamped hand. Anyone who has not had their hand stamped and appears under 25 and is found to have any alcohol will be required to leave the premises. This extends to the person who bought them the alcohol, they will also be asked to leave the premises.
9 - We reserve the right to check the bags, rucksacks etc of guests on arrival to check that no alcohol or drugs are brought into the premises. If a guest refuses to allow this check to take place entry to the premises will be refused.
10 - If a guest appears intoxicated or under the influence of drugs upon arrival entry will be refused.
11 - Only alcohol purchased on the premises may be consumed. Anyone found drinking alcohol that was not purchased on the premises will be asked to leave. This extends to cover any prizes won in raffles etc.
12 - We reserve the right to close down the function at any time if unacceptable behavior takes place within or out with the premises which may be detrimental to the retention of our license. This will result in FULL deposit and hall hire being forfeited.
13 - If any guest is suspected of taking drugs or to be found with drugs on the premises the function will terminated immediately with FULL deposit and hall hire being forfeited.
14 - If any form of violence takes place within or out with the premises the Police will be called and the offender(s) identified to the Police. If any member of staff is threatened by a guest the function will be terminated immediately and the FULL deposit and hall hire will be forfeited.
15 - Please note that as part of the DJ's set there may be the use of strobe lighting and / or a smoke machine. If there are any guests who are sensitive to either you must make the Steward aware upon arrival.
16 - The Waterside Social Club cannot be held responsible for any damage to, the loss of or theft of any personal belongings. Guests are responsible for the safety of their belongings.
17 - If the kitchen facilities are used, all cutlery, crockery, utensils and cookware used must be cleaned. The fridge / freezer / cooker / oven, if used, must also be cleaned. Any spillages must be cleaned up. Failure to comply will result in £30.00 being deducted from your deposit.
18 - Out with the main function hall all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult
19 – We are a non-smoking establishment. If anyone is found smoking on the premises they will be asked to leave. Please note the use of vapor type electric cigarettes is not permitted on the premises.
20 - INDEMNITY - The hirer shall indemnify the club against all claims, demands, actions or proceedings in respect of the default or injury caused by or to any person which shall occur whilst the person is in or upon club property or arise from an accident whilst at the premises, or in respect of any loss or damage suffered or sustained by any person.
21 - You must complete the booking form contained within this document and return it to Waterside Social Club, 26 Inglis Green Road, Edinburgh, EH14 2ER, confirming you have read, understood and agree to these terms and conditions. This, along with your deposit, must be received within 14 days. Failure to comply will result in your booking being deemed as no longer required and your requested date being made available to others.
22 - Full payment for hall hire must be received no later than 14 days prior to the date of your function.
PLEASE NOTE - THE WATERSIDE SOCIAL CLUB RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL A BOOKING AT ANY TIME. IF A DEPOSIT HAS BEEN PAID THIS WILL BE REFUNDED BY CHEQUE WITHIN 7 DAYS OF THE CANCELLATION TO THE ADDRESS LISTED ON THE BOOKING FORM.
